The Gift of Music, founded in 2026, is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making private music lessons accessible to children and youth under the age of 18 across Maine. By providing financial assistance to cover and/or assist in the costs of private lessons, the organization aims to remove economic barriers that might otherwise prevent talented and passionate young people from pursuing their musical interests and development. Whether a child dreams of playing piano, violin, guitar, voice, or any other instrument, The Gift of Music seeks to ensure that financial constraints do not limit their opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in their musical endevours.

 

At its core, the organization celebrates the transformative role that private lessons play in building skills, confidence, discipline, and joy in young lives.
